Day Care Facilities
Resource has designed numerous sites for Day Care facilities. These are unique in many ways, mostly dealing with safety: landscaping outside the play areas, minimal slopes in the play areas, fall zones that meet state requirements, a child's access to other parts of the play areas, keeping others in the appropriate places and egress from the building during emergencies. Resource will address each of these items.
Other unique topics are parking and traffic. Many localities require parking based on square footage of the building; however, this barely covers the necessary spaces for the employees. Therefore, the parking lot must contain about twice as spaces as a lot for an office. Resource worked with each of the developers to ensure more parking spaces. The volume of traffic is greatly increased from the typical site. Consider that employees arrive each day, but the parents arrive twice each day. This volume has an impact on the local roads. Resource has been able to design sites which have required minimal road improvements, if any.
Each of the Day Care facilities have required, as most do, a Conditional Use Permit (CUP). Resource has planners and engineers who have carefully taken each of these sites through the appropriate processes to successfully gain approval. Other services provided by Resource include: survey (boundary and topographic), utilities, grading, drainage and storm system design, landscaping, and construction administration services.
