Holladay Branch Wastewater Collection & Transport System
Resource provided full engineering services for a wastewater collection and transport system to serve a new development and a large service area in northwestern Henrico County, Virginia. These services included facilities studies and updates, design plans and specifications, design studies and reports, and a master sewer plan for the proposed development.
Sewer Collection System
The gravity sewer collection system and trunk sewer included 8", 10", 12", 16" and 18" pipe sizes installed along Holladay Branch near the Chickahominy River. The system included approximately 4,600 feet of gravity sewer.
Wastewater Pump Station
The Holladay Branch Wastewater Pump Station was designed for a capacity of 2.0 million gallons per day (mgd). The station includes 100-hp pumps, variable frequency drives (VFD's), a SCADA system integrated into Henrico County's central controls and data acquisition system, a communitor in the influent channel, a chemical feed system for odor control, and a standby power generator and controls.
Force Main
The Holladay Branch force main conveys wastewater from the pump station to Henrico County's North Run Trunk Sewer System. The 12" force main crosses Interstate Route 295 in an existing casing pipe. The total length of the force main is approximately 5,500 feet.
