Traffic Data Analysis

Resource is assisting the Town of Dumfries with reviewing procedures and conditional use permit requirements to close and remove the landfill located within the Town. The landfill is located adjacent to the interchange of I-95 and Route 234. The landfill is required to remove all construction debris and waste deposited since the early 1980's. The landfill operator is required to submit a variety of reports and methods to accomplish the removal of the landfill to the Town for approval. These procedures include plans for control of noise, dust, traffic, drainage, soil analyses, airborne emissions, odor, and lighting.

Traffic Analyses
Resource is assisting the Town in reviewing traffic data submitted by the landfill operator to determine the impact on an adjacent residential area and the single point of access to the landfill and the residential area. Limited right of way does not allow any expansion of the intersections that now serve the landfill and the adjacent residential area. As a result, the Town is considering operational controls to limit truck access during specific periods of the day and add regulatory control.

Resource represented the Town in public meetings before the Town Planning Commission and Town Council.
