Mr. Anthony W. Creech, P.G., Resource’s Manager of Groundwater and Geology, has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of the Virginia (Old Dominion) Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA). SWANA’s mission is to advance the practices of environmentally and economically sound management of municipal solid waste in Virginia. Mr. Creech will complete the term recently vacated by Dick Cheliras (for health reasons).
For over 40 years, the SWANA has been the leading professional association in the solid waste field. The association serves more than 7,200 members throughout North America, and thousands more with conferences, certifications, publications, and technical training courses.
The Old Dominion Chapter consists of over 300 professionals actively working in the solid waste field throughout Virginia. The membership represents the largest cross section of solid waste managers, operators, and consultants in Virginia. SWANA trains more than 200 professionals in the various disciplines of solid waste management every year.
SWANA seeks to foster networking and cooperation among solid waste professionals, including regulators, and provides educational opportunities to enhance members'expertise in the solid waste management field. It carries out a variety of activities and programs to share information, provide continuing education opportunities, and to establish innovative research programs to serve public interest.
